Barry A. Chatz

Partner

Mr. Chatz is a partner in the Chicago office of Arnstein & Lehr LLP and is chair of the Bankruptcy, Creditors’ Rights, and Restructuring Practice Group. He represents lenders, unsecured creditors, corporate debtors and trustees in numerous matters around the country.

Professional Activities and Achievements

Mr. Chatz is an active member of the Illinois, California, and American Bar Associations, and the American Bankruptcy Institute. He serves as a panel bankruptcy trustee for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Due to his extensive experience, Mr. Chatz was included in Financier Worldwide's 2014 Corporate Advisor Handbook for Bankruptcy & Restructuring. From 1987-1990, he served with the Office of the United States Trustee for the Central District of California through the United States Attorney General’s Honors Program. Additionally, Mr. Chatz serves as an adjunct professor for John Marshall Law School.

Mr. Chatz has published articles for Thomson Reuters News and Insight in Bankruptcy Law. He has spoken at numerous panels hosted by the American Bankruptcy Institute, Commercial Law League of America and the National Business Institute.
