George P. Apostolides
Partner

Mr. Apostolides is a Partner in the firm's Litigation group where he has practiced since graduating from Northwestern University School of Law in 1995. He handles all aspects of commercial, bankruptcy, and tort litigation. He has substantial experience preparing such cases and taking them to trial both in Chicago and its surrounding areas. He has obtained successful verdicts as first and second chair of numerous jury and non-jury trials, including cases against high profile plaintiffs' counsel. He also has obtained favorable results at arbitration and has prepared and argued many successful dispositive motions. He manages litigation nationwide for the firm's clients, and in that role, has participated in numerous alternative dispute resolution proceedings in foreign jurisdictions.

Professional Activities and Achievements

Mr. Apostolides is a member of the American Bar Association sections of Business Law and Litigation, as well as the Illinois State and Chicago Bar Associations. He serves as an investigator for the Chicago Bar Association's Judicial Evaluation Committee and as an arbitrator in the Cook County Mandatory Arbitration System. He is a regular presenter for seminars sponsored by the National Business Institute. As a member of the Trial Bar for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, he is a pro bono panelist assigned to handle employment discrimination cases. He regularly returns to Northwestern Law School to participate as a moot court judge for both the Julius Miner and Arlyn Miner competitions.

Publications

Mr. Apostolides is the author of "18 U.S.C. 924(c)(1): The Court's Construction of 'Use' and Second or Subsequent Conviction," published in 84 J. Crim. L. & Criminology 1006 (1994) and cited by the U.S. District Court in State v. Peacock, 876 F. Supp. 865 (E.D. Tex. 1995). He also authored "Monopolization Counterclaim Based on Patent Infringement Suit Fails for Failure to Identify Relevant Market," published in the Chicago Bar Association's Antitrust Committee newsletter. He has led seminars entitled Effective Discovery Tools for the Illinois Paralegal, How to Litigate Your First Civil Trial in Illinois, and Cost Effective Discovery, Tackling Advanced Medical Malpractice Issues in Illinois, and Cost Effective Discovery for the Pro Bono Attorney.
