C. Brady
Partner
Mr. Brady is a partner in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office.
He is an AV-rated attorney with over 33 years of a broad
range of experience in both the public and private sectors.
His background includes representation of several
municipalities and public boards. He remains the city
attorney for a South Florida municipality for which he has
been city attorney for over 31 years, during which time he
has provided counsel in the areas ranging from labor, civil
rights, zoning and land use law to the areas of common
legislation and daily policy-making. Moreover, he has
represented national and multi-national corporations in a
multitude of endeavors. From the private sector perspective,
Mr. Brady has extensive experience in real estate and land
use law, including providing transactional counsel and title
advice in the acquisition, financing, zoning, development,
and re-development of real property, through sales to
institutional, corporate, and individual buyers. He has
provided counsel and otherwise participated in various
matters involving environmental regulations and law,
coordinating with engineers and other experts to resolve
real and alleged environmental problems. He also represents
issuers and recipients in bond and housing assistance
financing. Rounding out his practice, he has conducted and
continues to actively conduct non-jury and jury trials in
the state and federal courts, as well as prosecuting and
defending appeals from such courts.
Professional Activities and Achievements
Mr. Brady has been city attorney for the City of Lauderdale
Lakes since 1975. He has also served as special counsel for
the City of Cooper City. Previously, he represented the City
of Hacienda Village, as city attorney, and the City of Tamarac, Florida, as an
assistant city attorney. Mr. Brady
is a member of the American Bar Association, the Florida Bar
Association, the Bar of the District Columbia, and the Virginia
State Bar Association. In addition to serving on a variety
of civic boards and committees, he has served ten-year terms
on the Broward County Planning and Zoning Board and the
Historic Preservation Board of the City of Fort Lauderdale,
Florida. He presently serves as a member of the
Northwest-Progresso-Flagler Heights advisory board for the
City of Fort Lauderdale’s Community Redevelopment Agency.
