Mr. Goldberg is the co-chair of the Real Estate group at Arnstein & Lehr, where he is a partner. He concentrates his practice in the real estate area, including real estate development, real estate litigation, condominium and community association law and practice, lender representation, directors and officers liability defense litigation, and affordable housing matters on behalf of for profit and nonprofit developers and condominium converters. He regularly handles a wide range of issues on behalf of condominium and other community associations, and chairs Arnstein & Lehr's Community Association practice group, which involves the representation of more than 300 community associations. In the area of lender representation, Mr. Goldberg is experienced in counseling major financial institutions with the structuring and implementation of complex commercial loan facilities, debt workouts, and restructurings. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Law in the LL.M. Real Estate Law Program of The John Marshall Law School in Chicago.

Professional Activities and Achievements

In 2007, Mr. Goldberg was named a "Leading Lawyer" by the Leading Lawyers Network. He was also named one of the Top 100 "Illinois Super Lawyers" in 2005 and 2006, as recognized by his peers in the Illinois Legal community. Only five percent of Illinois attorneys are recognized as "Super Lawyers" each year.


He is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (Secretary, Common Interest Ownership Committee); American College of Mortgage Attorneys; Illinois Real Estate Attorneys Association (Board, 1997-); College of Community Association Lawyers--Community Associations Institute (CAI); Chicago Mortgage Attorneys Association Board Member (Past President); CAI's Illinois Chapter (Board, 1983-89); CAI's Illinois Legislative Action Committee (Chair, 1983-89); Chicago Bar Association (CBA) Executive Council of Real Property Law Committee (Chair, 1989-90); and CBA's Committee on Condominiums, and former Chair of the Uniform Condominium Act Subcommittee of that Committee. Mr. Goldberg has lectured on a broad range of real estate issues for the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, the CBA's Continuing Legal Education Series, and the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education ("ICLE"). He is co-author of the 2003 Supplement to an ICLE Chapter ("The Illinois Act and Condominium Titles") on "Illinois Condominiums." He has been a frequent speaker on current developments in condominium law and an Instructor on "Legal Risks and Liabilities and Leadership Training Program," for CAI. He is co-author of "A Comparative Analysis of the Illinois Condominium Property Act and the Uniform Condominium Act," published in The John Marshall Law Review and the "Annual Real Estate Developments Update," published in the Southern Illinois University Law Journal.
