Nancy S. Harbottle
Partner

Ms. Harbottle is a partner in the Hoffman Estates office of Arnstein & Lehr. She devotes a majority of her practice to local government law, land use, zoning and development issues and also has substantial experience in condominium, public sector employment, environmental and eminent domain law. Currently, she is the lead attorney in the Firm's representation of the Village of Volo, the Village of Gilberts and Cuba Township and has a major role in the legal representation of the Village of North Barrington and Poplar Creek Public Library District. She also represents developers and other private parties dealing with municipalities. In 2005, Ms. Harbottle was lead attorney for the joint venture of Ryan Companies USA and Sears relative to a major sports arena (Sears Centre Arena) as it proceeded through the entitlement process in the Village of Hoffman Estates. Under the guidance of Ms. Harbottle, the Village of Volo is completing the entitlement processes for a comprehensive development area in the village including commercial, retail, residential uses and providing public infrastructure to service the approximately 1700 acre development area.

Professional Activities and Achievements

Ms. Harbottle is a member of the Local Government Committee of the Chicago Bar Association and the Lake County Bar Association, and past Trustee and Chair of the Church Council of the Barrington United Methodist Church.


She is the co-author of a chapter entitled "Subdivisions" appearing in the Illinois Land Use Law text published by the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education.
