Mr. Heinz is a partner in the law firm of Arnstein & Lehr, where he has practiced since 1980. He concentrates his
practice in general civil litigation, handling a broad range
of complex commercial and tort matters for corporate
clients. Among the matters he has litigated are complex real
estate disputes arising out of commercial lease agreements
and development contracts, breach of contract claims,
insurance coverage disputes, and products liability, public
transportation liability and premises liability actions. He
has also litigated numerous trust and estate matters,
including document construction cases, disputed trust and
estate accountings and issues involving fiduciary
negligence. He has successfully tried numerous cases to
verdict in state and federal courts, including jury trials
involving multi-million dollar disputes. He has also
successfully handled appeals in state and federal courts. He
is responsible for hiring and supervising local attorneys
throughout the United States in products liability and
premises liable cases, on behalf of a major corporation.
Professional Activities and Achievements
Mr. Heinz has been actively involved in bar association
activities, both at the national and local levels. Since
1980, he has been a member of the American Bar Association
(ABA) and its Litigation and Tort and Insurance Practice
Sections. He served as a delegate to the ABA's 1988 Young
Lawyers Division Assembly. He is also a member of the
Illinois State Bar Association and its Civil Practice and
Tort Divisions. Mr. Heinz has been a member of the Chicago
Bar Association (CBA) since 1980 and has served in several
leadership positions, including Chair and Vice Chair of the
CBA's Membership Committee, Secretary and Director of the
CBA's Young Lawyers Section and Chair of the CBA's Appellate
Law Committee. He is also a member of the Illinois Appellate
Lawyers Association and Chicago Volunteer Legal Services.
