Douglas Kniskern
Partner

Mr. Kniskern is a partner in the Firm’s Fort Lauderdale office. He has extensive experience in the areas of estate planning and estates and trusts administration. He has been practicing law in South Florida since 1975. Mr. Kniskern's experience in estate planning includes, but not limited to, planning and drafting wills and trusts; planning with respect to closely held business interests; tax planning for qualified plan and IRA distributions; family limited partnerships and limited liability companies; and planning for incapacity and old age. His experience in estate and trust administration includes, but not limited to, handling all phases of estate administration, including probate, preparation of federal estate tax returns and fiduciary income tax returns; estate tax, gift tax, generation-skipping transfer tax and fiduciary income tax audits and controversies; post-mortem estate planning; will and trust controversies; and trust administration.

Professional Activities and Achievements

Mr. Kniskern has been an active volunteer, serving on numerous committees for charitable and professional organizations. Organizations that have benefited from Mr. Kniskern's involvement include: Goodwill Industries of South Florida, Family Counseling Services of Greater Miami, the University of Miami's Professional Development Committee, Estate Planning Council of Greater Miami, and the Rotary Club of Weston, among others.
