Ronald
D. Menaker
Partner
Mr. Menaker is a partner in the law firm of Arnstein & Lehr
and handles white collar criminal defense. Mr. Menaker launched his
career in the Cook County Public Defender's Office in 1971.
During his 10 years in that office he had numerous
assignments, including Chief of the Trial Division at 13th
and Michigan. In that capacity, he supervised 11 courtrooms,
more than 25 attorneys, and other support personnel. He has
substantial experience handling matters involving mail and
wire fraud, criminal investigations and actions under the
Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO),
federal Food and Drug Administration proceedings, and
federal and state environmental enforcement actions. In
addition to handling criminal trials and appellate
proceedings, he has represented witnesses and defendants
before grand juries, professional licensing boards and
special investigative panels.
Professional Activities and Achievements
Mr. Menaker has served as a Trial Advocacy Instructor at
Loyola School of Law in Chicago. He has served since 1980 as
an Adjunct Professor of Law at Chicago-Kent College of Law.
He is a member of the National Association of Criminal
Defense Lawyers, the Northwest Suburban Bar Association, the
American Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, and
the Illinois State Bar Association and its Criminal Law
Committee.
Recent Publications
Mr. Menaker is a columnist for the Chicago Daily Law
Bulletin. He has made numerous presentations for the Chicago
Bar Association's Continuing Legal Education Committee and
Young Lawyers Section.
