National Firm Completes Move to “Modern Space, Conducive to Working Collaboratively,” As Technology, Culture Drives Change
CHICAGO – Arnstein & Lehr LLP announced today that the firm has completed its planned move to 161 N. Clark Street, relocating from 120 S. Riverside Plaza.
Arnstein now occupies floors 41, 42 and 46 of the white marble and steel-trimmed tower directly across from the Thompson Center in the heart of the Chicago Loop. The firm will occupy additional space on part of the building’s 13th floor and will make frequent use of the building’s 12th floor conference center, business lounge and outdoor space for hosting meetings and events.
“This space gives us flexibility,” said Michael L. Gesas, managing partner of the firm’s Chicago office. “With digitized files and lawyers working remotely, a modern law firm just doesn’t need a big library or palatial partners’ offices. What we need – and what we now have in this beautiful new space – is a place to come together and collaborate, learn from each other, meet with our clients, and share ideas.”
The firm’s 65,000 square feet of space includes a large classroom-style space for in-house and remote training sessions, as well as team and conference rooms for formal meetings and ad-hoc work sessions and team huddles, and a lounge for breaks and social events.
Founded in 1893, Arnstein & Lehr currently has 90 lawyers in the Chicago office and 50 in Florida. The firm also has a small Springfield office that its Chicago lawyers use when traveling to the state capital.
“We’re proud of our history, of course,” said Gesas, “but, mostly, we’re excited about the future. This move is the beginning of an exciting new chapter for us in Chicago and facilitates greater collaboration with our colleagues in Florida, through technology and accommodations for visiting attorneys.”
